Three new articles

We have three new articles for you today. The first is from the New York Times and talks about a recent round-table that was held with policy makers and college presidents to discus the rising costs of tuition. You can read the article here.

The second article comes from Time magazine. Many state colleges and universities have been coming up with some less than truthful ways to increase tuition. With the recent limits on tuition hikes in some states, universities are looking for new ways to cope with rising costs, and it looks like many of them are simply disguising tuition increases as "fees". Even though the average tuition increase this year is only 6%, the average fee increase is 8%. In Oregon, for instance, fees make up over 40% of the cost of attending college, and since many financial aid packages are based solely on tuition, many students have found it impossible to finance their education. You can read the complete article here.

If you've ever had questions about your voting rights as a college student, you need to check out the article we found in the New York Times. There are many different rules governing where voters can be registered, but almost all states allow you to register at a campus address, even if your permanent address is somewhere else. You can read the article here.
