Maryville Univ students ask tuition questions

"Got Tuition?" visited students at Maryville University in Town and Country, Missouri where 79 students and instructors signed the "Got Tuition?" petition asking federal and state elected leaders to make college education more affordable for more students and put on "Got Tuition?" t-shirts to raise awareness of college affordability as a national issue in 2008.

Three of Maryville's students -- Terin Douglas, Danielle Lavallee and Anna Hurst -- also offered questions for consideration by moderators of the upcoming vice presidential debate at Washington University on Thursday, and presidential debates to come.

Fontbonne Univ students pose questions to VP candidates

"Got Tuition?" returned to Fontbonne University today, where 95 more students and instructors signed the "Got Tuition?" petition asking federal and state elected leaders to make college education more affordable for more students and put on "Got Tuition?" t-shirts to raise awareness of college affordability as a national issue in 2008.

Two of Fontbonne's students, Minh Truong and Sharon Atlas, offered questions for consideration by Gwen Ifill, the moderator of Thursday's vice presidential debate at Washington University.

College affordability in the news

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel has an article about how the state is trying to deal with teh out of controls costs of textbooks. The state Board of Governors and the state Board of Education are working with a "textbook task force" and preliminary recommendations are due are due in mid-November. You can read the article here.

"Got Tuition?" visits Harris Stowe State University

"Got Tuition?" visited students at Harris Stowe State University today, where 126 students and instructors signed the "Got Tuition?" petition asking federal and state elected leaders to make college education more affordable for more students and put on "Got Tuition?" t-shirts to raise awareness of college affordability as a national issue in 2008.

"Got Tuition?" is continues a series of "Day of Action" activities at area colleges and universities leading up to the Vice Presidential Debate at Washington University on October 2. We'll return to Ryan Hall on the campus of Fontbonne University on Monday during the lunch hour.
